Sheena Bora murder which took place in 2012 but the facts about the same came into the light after three long years in 2015. There is saying in English “Crime Never Pays” is very much applicable to this case. Criminals would have never anticipated that something like this would come up that too after three long years. According the sources whole investigation started after the commissioner of police Mumbai Rakesh Maria received the anonymous call three months back informing that Sheena Bora is missing for past three years, taking cognizance of the matter Maria informed his subordinates to carry out the investigation into the matter while keeping high level of privacy in the entire mission.
Soon after the confession of the driver of Indrani Mukerjea police arrested Indrani and Khanna (Indrani’s ex husband) and the truth came into the light. But yet the real motive behind this murder is not yet surfaced and the vehicle used in the crime was not yet recovered. But as you know if Mumbai police decides to crack the crime nothing can stop them, accordingly the police soon managed to get their hands on the car which was used in the murder of Sheena Bora in April 2012.
According to the news published by ANI news agency “In a significant development, Mumbai Police have recovered the car used in the murder of Sheena Bora in April 2012, on Saturday”. Mumbai police also brought the main accused in Sheena Bora case, Indrani Mukerjea to the Khar Police station for the further interrogation, subsequently she was put under arrest by the police and later produced she was produced before the Bandra magistrate where she had given police remand till 31st August. Her driver was also arrested on August 25 and during interrogation, he claimed that Indrani had killed Sheena and that he had helped her in disposing of the body by dumping it in the forests of Raigad District.
The probe took another shocking turn when Sanjiv Khanna, ex husband of Indrani Mukerjea confessed his complicity in the crime, although motive is still not known but police is checking the financial angel in the involvement of Khanna into this murder.
Meanwhile the focus of murder is now shifted to the forensic analysis of the skeletal remain which police have recovered from the crime spot in Raigad district where the dead body of Sheena was allegedly dumped three years ago. “We have sent the bones and other skeletal remains for forensic analysis and are awaiting report,” a police official said. JJ Hospital also on Friday handed over to Khar police a few bones it had received from Raigad Police in 2012. Meanwhile the report says that cops have moved Mikhail Bora, son of Indrani Mukerjea, to an undisclosed location.
Police is also probing into the claim of Mikhail Bora in which he told them that few hours before Indrani and Khanna met Sheena Bora on April 24, 2012 and took here for the so called her last drive she called him on the pretext of discussing a property deal and gave him spiked drink, “She wanted to kill me too but I managed to escape” he said.
Now police is planning to take the accused to the murder spot to find out some more evidences which will help to solve this mystery. Meanwhile police is also trying to check on the angle of financial irregularities which apparently took place while Indrani was heading NEWSX apparently lots of money was transferred into various “Benami” accounts which includes brother of Peter Goa based Gautam Mukerjea who runs the print media business under the name of Planet Goa, Sheena Bora, daughter of Indrani Mukerjea who was murdered in 2012 and Mikhail Bora, son of Indrani whom she attempted to murder along with Sheena on 24th April 2012.
Many skeletons are yet to come out of the closet. This case will surely end up exposing more shocking information. Police is very much sure that the murder did not took place alone on the angle of alleged love affair of Sheena Bora and Rahul Mukerjea but there is financial angle related to it and police will leave no stone unturned to find that angle very soon.
