Taking a cue from the horrific 26/11 terror attack, the Indian security forces are leaving no stone unturned. Indian Navy has issued the highest level of alert in Mumbai. The anti-terror squad has moved into action. The alert was issued on Thursday afternoon, after two schoolchildren spotted suspicious looking men, loaded with arms, near the Uran naval base. According to the schoolchildren, the men were in black uniform and carried guns. The suspected individuals were spotted near ammunition dump near the Uran base. The alert comes barely a couple of days after the gruesome terror attack at the camp in Uri, which resulted in the death of 18 soldiers and left nearly 12 jawans critically injured.  Here is the complete report.

Marine commandos, MARCOS, are placed at Uran Navy base. Mumbai police have issued nakabandi and are reviewing the situation. Colaba police have also alerted its officers to be on watch.

According to the sources, around four to five persons were spotted wearing army fatigues in Uran near Mumbai, today at 6 am. The Navy, said sources, is treating the information very seriously. The suspected 4-5 men were speaking a different language. The children are not sure whether the language spoken by the suspected terrorists was Pashtun. However, they are firm that it was not Hindi or Marathi, or any other native language. This is considered to be the highest level of alert issued by the Navy in recent times. The claims made by the school children appear to be legit.

Uran is around 50 km away from Mumbai and is close to important locations like the Jawaharlal Nehru Port and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Despite the usage of Navy choppers, the suspected individuals have not been spotted. However, the claims made by school children cannot be ignored. The children were firm about the presence of armed men moving near the ammunition dump of the Uran base.

Although the suspected individuals were spotted in Uran near Navi Mumbai, police in Colaba has also issued an alert. Fishermen have been instructed to stay away from the coast until the threat is deferred. According to the sources, Residents in Uran, Navi Mumbai, and Thane have been urged to stay back. Some workplaces in Uran have begun sending back their employees, taking cognizance of the threat imposed.
