There is no doubt that Illegal activities are rapidly growing in Goa. In one such incident, a couple from Chembur Maharashtra arrested by the bicholim police on Wednesday who were engaged in selling illegal medicines at bicholim bus stand from a mini bus. [su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] As reported by TOI official sources have said that this issue was disclosed when some locals from bicholim complained to the police that the couple had been selling Ayurvedic medicines in a mini bus. They used to distribute it in a dirty polythene bags.

Police then hurried to the spot and arrested both. Their names are identified as Bijendra Banu Singh, and his wife Sheelabai Bijendra Singh, both the natives of ChemburMaharashtra.

They have been held under Section 34 (punishment for certain offences on roads, etc) of the Indian Police Act.

It was confirmed by Bicholim PI Narayan Chimulkar that they were not authorized to sell medicines. Head constable Santosh Gawade, under the guidance of PI Chimulkar and DySP Ramesh Gaonkar are further investigating into the matter.

Sources revealed that the inquiry has been made following oral complaints from Bicholim MLA Naresh Sawal and the chairperson of the Bicholim municipal council.
