The two Wheeler riding have become life-threatening due to haywire traffic in the state of Goa. The Trucks and Busses have become monsters killing the innocent people on the road. The recent accident of Canacona (Agonda) had already claimed two lives of the tourists from the UK just two weeks back while the recent road accidents in the south Goa have claimed three lives in the beginning of a new year…

According to the reports, three people were killed in separate road accidents on Monday in the south Goa. Borda-resident Subodh Kumar Yadav, 22, died after the two-wheeler he was riding veered off the road and plunged into the fields at Padribhat, Nessai, Sao Jose de Areal, late Monday night. While in the second accident Estela Pereira, 68 was knocked down by one Andrew Gomes from Nagoa. The third incident took place at Verna. A police constable died when a speeding truck knocked him down from his two-wheeler.

All three accidents took place in south Goa on a Monday night. The ending of an old year and the beginning of the new year is always crucial for the road accidents. All the road accidents in south Goa are connected with two-wheeler riders.

The accident at Verna took place in the midnight when the constable attached to Verna Police station was on his way back home after finishing his duty. The truck has supposedly knocked him down from behind and the driver of the truck escaped from the scene, leaving the victim bleeding on road and getting closer to his death with every minute passed.

Two Borda residents who met with a self-accident at St. Jose de Arial on Monday night, one of them Subodh Kumar Yadav, 22 died on the spot while the pillion rider Roshan Kumar, 22 were injured seriously and fighting for his life in GMC. According to the reports, both of them are the native of Bihar.

Meanwhile the accident of Nagoa, in which a 68-year-old Estela Pereira died after she was knocked down by the two-wheeler rider Andrew Gomes while driving in a rash and negligent manner later knocking down two more vehicles on his way.

All the accidents are related to the two-wheeler and in most of them are due to the rash and negligent driving. There is no doubt that the two-wheeler riders ride in a rash manner and causing the accidents. Meanwhile, the accident involving a police constable seems to be due to the fault of the truck driver, who escaped the scene after dashing the police countable from behind, causing him grievous injuries resulting into his death. The police have booked the truck driver, who is presently absconding, under the section 304 (Culpable Homicide)

All the cases are under investigations under various police stations. It is very sad that the beginning of the new year has been marked with so many accidents in the state. All the efforts of traffic department have been in vain, as the road accidents in the state are on rising. Who is responsible? please share your honest views…
