Goa happened to be coming under the scanner of ISIS and according to the reports published by various national media suggesting that two ISIS terrorists had been arrested in Hyderabad and they have confessed the plans of targeting the Goa state.

The recent statement released by The former Pakistan minister Rehman Malik blaming the Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for the attack on the Bacha Khan University in Charasadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was followed by the death threat to the Defence Minister and Prime Minister from terrorist groups via postcard which was supposedly sent to the secretariat by them.

The Goa Police have claimed that they didn’t receive any such communication from any terrorist groups. “We did not get any official communication from any terrorist group on this,” said IGP (Inspector General of Police) V Ranganathan. Another senior police official on the condition of anonymity said that they have received the information through the sources that ISIS had conducted the Reece in the state. He avoided commenting further on this issue saying that they are presently investigating the matter from all the possible angles.

According to the sources, the NIA and other security agencies have arrested 14 people for allegedly planning attacks in the country on the Republic Day. The arrests made were followed by the simultaneous searches conducted at the 12 locations and six major cities i.e. Bengaluru, Tumkur, Mangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Lucknow on January 22nd January with the help of local police.

Police arrested 14 people in the age group of 20 to 53 years after they were found purchasing the explosive material and electronic circuits, acid, nuts and bolts that are used in the making of latest explosive devices.

Meanwhile, according to the sources, the Goa police are busy in investigating the letter supposedly written by the ISIS threatening to harm Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. The letter dated 13th January 2016 which was addressed to the Goa Secretariat at Porvorim subsequent to which the Goa police swung into the action and tighten the security around the state. Mr Parrikar has also been asked to take the Z-plus security cover during his visits to Goa as the defence minister often seen going around in Goa without any security cover. Finally, the former CM and present defence minister had accepted the cover of Z category security

If the letter has any ingredients in it then it is really a very serious issue not only for the politicians but also for the hundreds of thousands of civilians. The terrorist doesn’t check to whom they are targeting. Goa may have to pay the big cost for this. Goa and Goans need to be very careful and try to help each other by raising the alarm of any suspicious activities going around. A terrorist does not attack the politicians they only attack the innocent people in most of the cases. How many politicians are dead due to terror attacks? It is always common man who pays the cost of the deed of the politicians. It’s time for the Goans to stand together and unite to face such challenges. We must be ready by all means if any such issue takes place. Be together, be united – that’s the way we can finish terrorism and protect ourselves. Please do leave your comments and suggestions on this serious issue.
