MASSIVE TRAGEDY STRUCK AS FIVE PEOPLE FROM SOUTH GOA DROWNED IN THE WATERFALL AT KARNATAKA

IT WAS THE MOST TRAGIC MOMENT FOR THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THOSE FIVE UNFORTUNATE PEOPLE WHO WERE DROWNED INTO THE NAGARMADI WATERFALL SITUATED IN KARNATAKA ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. TWO BODIES OF WOMEN WERE RECOVERED SO FAR AND THREE ARE STILL MISSING. ACCORDING TO THE SOURCES, FIVE PEOPLE HAVE FEARED DROWN INTO THE WATERFALL…

According to the reports, a group of 50 people was on their trip (picnic) to the Nagarmadi waterfall situated in Karnataka, and they have ventured into the water not realizing the consequences of the same. The video clip of the people struck into the water is going viral on the social media shows how the victims went with the flow of water.

PEOPLE CARRYING THE BODY OF ONE OF THE LADY DROWNED IN THE WATER

The sources have revealed that total four women and one man from Goa drowned in the water while on a picnic to the waterfall at Karnataka. According to the police sources, the deceased Frencila Pereira, 21, and Fiona Pacheco, 28 were amongst the group of 50 people from Salecete in (south) Goa were picnicking at the waterfall when this incident happened.

The eyewitnesses said that the people who got drowned did not listen to the warnings and went inside the water, and due to the continuous rain the sudden flow of water resulted into the drowning of five people. Two men and women are still missing while the bodies of two ladies have been recovered so far.        

The names of those who still missing are, Marcelina Mesquita, 38, and Renuka and Siddarth Chari (age not known) who were part of the same group. “We are coordinating with police and fire rescue officials from Karwar district,” the spokesperson said.

This is one of the most unfortunate incidents that took place, said the sources adding that it had shaken the entire state and everybody is in the state of shock after getting the news of drowning. People are feeling sorry for the departed soul.

Such incidents are resulted out of the utter negligence on the part of people. There were several warnings about the heavy rainfall in the state but, people seem to have ignored it. This incident could have been averted if the group members had to remain more alert about the warnings.

The Karwar police have carried out a massive search operation to find the missing bodies of three people, said the sources. According to the last report received in this regards claims that one more person is found missing, and his name is Samir Gawade, a resident of Keri Ponda.
