THE CASES OF THEFTS ARE GROWING IN THE STATE DUE TO THE ENTRY OF MIGRANTS. HERE, IN THIS CASE, THE ACCUSED WOMEN ARE RESIDENTS OF KARNATAKA WHO WERE ARRESTED BY THE MAPUSA POLICE FOR TWO THEFT CASES REPORTED IN THE TOWN. THEY ALLEGEDLY STOLE ITEMS WORTH SEVERAL THOUSANDS.

On Friday Mapusa Police successfully tracked down the four accused of robbery. Vikas Maluram supervisor of an establishment on August 6 had lodged a complaint stating that his shop was burgled by unidentified persons who entered his establishment through the window and decamped with electronic items worth Rs. 50,000.

Around the same time, another establishment has also reported a case of robbery of cell phones and other electronic items from their shop in Mapusa. Mapusa police conducted a panchanama after they were informed about the incident. After going through the CCTV footage they identified the four accused women and later the police team nabbed them.

The accused have been identified as Sonaibai Lamani, 60, Renuka Lamani, 30, Rukhi Lamani, 30, and Chandrawani Lamani, 30. The police are conducting further investigation into the case.
