There was a huge crowd of Goan voters seen gathered outside the Raj Bhavan protesting the swear-in ceremony of Mr. Parrikar. People were displaying the placards in the protest of the swear in ceremony. The Goan voters feel that BJP should respect the verdict of the people of Goa and step down to make way for the Congress. There was a huge protest campaign on the social media against the swearing in ceremony of Parrikar.

Messages circulating on WhatsApp called people to step up and “protect their democratic right”. “No political parties are involved in this, only voters who have been short-changed and taken for a ride by the strong-arm tactics of Manohar Parrikar and the greed of Goa Forward, MGP and independent MLAs.” Around 4 pm the protest outside Raj Bhavan has begun. Among those seen are Congress party workers. Protests pick up outside Raj Bhavan. #NotMyCM, Backward Goa are among the messages on placards being held by protesters

Congress had filed the Writ Petition in the Supreme Court of India against the actions of Governor who did not call Congress despite the fact that Congress has elevated as the single largest party in 40 seat assembly house with by winning 17 seats. The petition was heard by the SC and ordered that swearing in ceremony will continue but it gave the chance to Congress to prove the majority on the floor within 48 hours.

GOANS ARE PROTESTING AGAINST THE PARRIKAR

The hearing on the petition at Supreme Court began at 10.30 am and the first question court asked Congress leader that they did not have an answer for “Did you submit in writing names of the MLAs who are supporting you and submit it to the Governor?” asked the bench. The Supreme Court said that the numbers should determine the single largest party. “You would have held a dharna outside Raj Bhavan if you had a majority,” the bench has reported. “You had enough time… There is not a single affidavit from any member who supports you.” The bench has also asked Congress why they did not approach the Governor of Goa over government formation. Based on the above the Supreme Court has refused to stay the swearing-in ceremony of Parrikar. It has ordered that the floor test is conducted on March 16 or within 48 hours. So the swearing-in could take place this afternoon.

Congress leaders at Congress House Panjim

Despite all the efforts Congress could not manage to stop Mr. Parrikar from taking oath as 28th CM of Goa. Meanwhile, following the oath of Mr. Parrikar, Vijay Sardesai, Rohan Khaunte & Sudin Dhavalikar took the oath as cabinet ministers. Goa Forward party leaders Prabhakar Timble (who resigned as President), General Secretary Mohandas Lolayekar, and spokesman Prashant Naik boycotted the swearing-in ceremony, said the sources.

After taking the oath of the office of CM of Goa Mr. Parrikar gave a small speech before the media gathered at Raj Bhavan. He said …

“My Hindi is improved after going to Delhi. You might be wondering how I managed the magic figure. Everyone who signed the letter had only one condition – asking Modi to relieve me from Delhi to help form a government in Goa. I have the support from Sudin and Vijay for Goa’s development and that specialty called “GOENKARPON”. I am grateful. Jis tarah court ne congress ke fatkara hain, agar majority hain toh kisne rokha.

In ten years they have 12 CMs. No one wants to support them as everyone knows there is infighting. They proved it again today. I am asked again, will you prove majority. We had 21 on day one. 22 now came late. Congress came in a bus. The reason is they are scared if they come in a car, some cars might disappear on the way. They packed 17 in a bus. We have MGP, Goa Forward and two and a half Independents. More than 55 percent Goans are thus represented. Thus, we have a post-election coalition. This is adequate proof for a floor of the House. We will prove it. Let everyone be very clear 365 x 5 years.”

CONGRESSMEN HEADING TOWARDS RAJ BHAVAN IN THE BUS

Meanwhile, the claims of Congress of proving their majority on the floor is nothing but the water bubble which will burst in no time said the sources. The sources further said that Congress only have the claims but no supporting evidence to prove the majority on the floor while BJP is already packed with the 22 confirmed number and soon they are expecting more to join in, claimed the sources in Congress. Some people are calling it Goenkarpon but with the time ingredient of Goenkar has vanished. Goans are the most humble and highly sophisticated people by nature right from the beginning and a true Goan would never betray anyone. The Goan politics is turning to be a dirty game with the time.
