A Lua is brand synonymous with three multi-cuisine restobars across Goa. The original A Lua Merces located near the Goan capital Panjim with its spacious indoors and large laid- back lawns which shall soon be twenty years old. Next came A Lua Sangolda, not far from the glittering North Goa beach belt, with an old restored Portuguese home as its setting, besides, an equally worthy outdoors. A Lua Verna in the Goan South, with an old world Portuguese charm in a new setting yet again covering a generously laid-out outdoor/indoors combo. Uniformly kept across these dine-outs is the A Lua promise of superlative dining, superlatively served, in a setting that can only be called, well superlative. Latest in the line is A Lua Panjim at Clube Vasco Da Gama.
The man behind the A Lua Magic is Mr. Andrew D’Souza. Passionate about hospitality, driven by the desire to showcase Goan dining pleasure, and dedicated to the mission to spread the goodness that is A Lua, with a growing number of patrons across Goa, the country and the globe. Son of the legendary Goan football Player and Referee Mr. Francis Xavier D’Souza, Andrew has seen the world of hospitality inside out and in the round.
Taking a degree in commerce and management from the University of Bombay, and serving his apprenticeship at luxury hotel chain Hilton in the Persian Gulf, Andrew came back home to set up A Lua Merces with painstaking diligence and perseverance. With three dine-outs in Goa sporting the A Lua brand to his credit, he has more admirers than he can count. His unassuming, cool-headed manner and his social responsibility concerns as a leading member of Panaji’s Rotary Club, especially in environment-related endeavors, have endeared him to many. His first love, though, is hospitality and his continuing endeavour is to raise the bar for himself in the field of hospitality and event management.
