Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) today that seeks to promote the expansive network of the postal department to ensure financial inclusion for the masses in the country.

There will be a nationwide launch of the Indian Post Payments Bank with 650 branches and 3250 access points spread across the country by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 1st September 2018.

In a press conference held at Hotel Fidalgo, Panaji on 31st August 31, 2018, it was announced that launch will simultaneously be held in 6 branches (head office) and 30 access points (sub-offices/branch offices) of the Goa region. The Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Smt. Mridula Sinha will inaugurate the Panaji IPPB branch at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji and Hon’ble MP Lok Sabha, Shri. Narendra K. Sawaikar will inaugurate the Margao IPPB branch at Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao on 1st September.

The aim is to build accessible, adorable and trusted bank services for the common man and to spearhead the financial inclusion agenda by removing the barriers for the unbanked and underbanked populations present in the country.  This is a self-sustaining process as its funded by the taxpayer’s money.
