AS THE FEAST OF OUR LADY VELANKANNI IS APPROACHING CLOSER, THE AIRLINES AND OTHER MODE OF TRANSPORT HAS BEEN FILLED UP WITH THE PILGRIMS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY, AS EVERYBODY IS HEADING TOWARDS VELANKANNI SHRINE SITUATED IN TAMILNADU. PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY VISIT THIS PLACE EVERY YEAR RELIGIOUSLY, BUT THIS TIME THE TRIP TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE, FOR 12 FAMILIES IN GOA, WHEN THEY MISSED THEIR FLIGHT DUE TO NEGLIGENCE OF INDIGO AIRLINES STAFF…

This may not be the first time that the airline’s staff made passengers suffer due to their negligence and lapses. There are several cases in the various parts of the country wherein the passenger remained stranded at the airport due to the negligence of negligence of airlines.

According to the reports, around 10-12 families were not allowed to get their boarding pass, despite arriving at the airport an hour prior to the departure of the flight. One of the family member’s who suffered in this incident said that there was a huge line at the security check, but the staff assured them that they will make it in time to board the flight.

As the security check continued to their surprise, they were informed the flight they supposed to board had already left, leaving behind all 12 families behind. Sushma Raj, one of the victims of this negligence said: “The staff at the counter directed us to the manager on duty Ms. Cinza, who refused to provide any help and the Indigo staff was extremely rude”.

THE INDIGO AIRLINES STAFF DENIED THE REFUND TO THE PASSENGERS

The passengers also claimed that they overheard one of the staff speaking on walkie talkie saying “I don’t care there are people waiting down”. As the passengers alleged the reason they missed the flight was all because of Indigo’s negligence, Indigo refused to compensate them the full amount but paid them just Rs.1000 when the actual cost of their tickets were Rs. 10,000.

According to the sources, the passengers were also asked by the airline staff to rebook their tickets, and the airline company denied providing them with any help in this, despite the fact that it was the negligence on the part of the airline company, due to which these families missed their flight.

This is perhaps the most arrogant behavior of the said airline company towards their passengers. What is your opinion on this serious issue? Has any one of you ever faced the similar issue anytime with any airlines in India? Please do share your experience with us.
