“This book will change your life” a Konkani short film of 27 minutes is based on the inspirational real life story of a physically-disabled entrepreneur Agostinho fernandes from Abelim- Quepem. It has been accepted for screening at the Cannes international Film Festival Short Film Corner which will be held from May 13th to 24th may 2015.
The film has been written, directed and edited by Ramprasad Adpaikar who is an upcoming filmmaker and whose feature film ‘In search of Mother’ was screened during the 45th international film festival of India 2014 in Goa.
The movie casts the physically-disabled Agostinho as himself. He is a musician and also a music teacher who travels to the homes of students all by himself to make his living. The film also stars Rajkishore Mhambrey alongside Agostinho, tells the story of a young depressed man (Rajkishore) who repeated attempts to get a job fail. He then meets ‘the real life book’ Agostinho and they find a new meaning to life and discover where happiness truly lies.
To take the inspirational tale of Agostinho to a larger audience Films executive producer, Amey Hegde is also looking to arrange free screening of the Konkani short film for schools, colleges and neighborhoods.
