Kamat’s Bail plea postponed till August 12 – The stage was set, says Aires Rodregues

The anticipatory bail application filed by the former Chief Minister Digamber Kamat gave him relief last week by posting the case date to 7th August due to need of reply from police who is taking its own time and before the hearing come to the high court Editor of Goa Prism received the message on its whats app at 1.55pm almost 35 minutes prior to the hearing time wherein the social activist Aires Rodregues mentioned “Today at 2.30 pm for Digamber Kamat’s anticipatory bail hearing, the AG has always done the setting of the stage. The crime branch acting as a cage parrots will only file their reply and keep the matter for argument next week. They will dubiously not his custody, so Digamber Kamat unlike his comrade Churchill will continue being free bird.” The prediction made by Rodregues almost exactly the way he described.

The hearing came on board at 2.30pm and Digamber Kamat received further relief till 12th August 2015 from getting arrested in Louis Berger case. The adjournment was pronounced by judge of special court B P Deshpande, dealing with corruption cases. This automatically continues the interim relief granted to Kamat on his conventional arrest. “We will file the reply right now. The arguments would take place on 12 August”, said Adv Guruprasad Kirtani, the state government lawyer, after the hearing.

Though the date has been prolonged by the court on whatever grounds deem fit but the judgment day is yet to come. Please do leave your valuable comments and suggestions on this issue.
