The main office and the residential premises of the owner of Kamakshi Forex in Margao, was raided on Tuesday by the Economic Offences Cell with the assistance of the Margao police. According to sources, Economic offence cell of the Goa police inquiring multi-crore investment frauds by Kamakshi Forex,  have taken the accounts books and other important documents of the company into their possession and are working to arrest the accused. [su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] Shivram Vaingankar, the police inspector in-charge of Economic Offences Cell, said that they raided the office premises of Kamakshi Forex. The residential flat of the Company’s proprietor Nilesh Raikar was also raided and as it was locked it had to be broken to gain access. The flat is in a building behind Kamakshi Forex office.

The shops where company operated were also searched for over five hours since 11 o’clock in the morning. During the raids, hundreds of people who were deceived thronged the office in Comba in the hope of getting their money back.

“We have recovered several books of accounts and cheques and are now verifying them for making a case against the alleged offender,” said PI Vaingankar.

Vaingankar further said that, “We have received over 250 complaints from persons who have been duped by the company; the duped amount is over Rs 17 crore. The amount will increase as more people, who have been duped of their money, are now coming out and filing complaints.” He added, “We are now working towards arresting the proprietor and go ahead with the probe.” A lookout notice has already been issued against Raikar and his mother Rekha Raikar both directors of the business.

As because the Raikar and his mother Rekha Raikar have been untraceable police said that they have been looking into the role of Nilesh’s wife Neelima, who has also been untraceable.

Kamakshi Forex being a fake company has been shocking news for its investors. This news has sent shockwaves and a woman from Aquem suffered a nervous shock. She had invested over Rs 5 lakh in the company, has suffered nervous shock and is presently getting medical care. Woman said, “We had our hard earned money invested into this company and now it’s hard to believe that it is all gone.”

Similarly A sailor who has invested in the company and is presently sailing has also fallen ill after he got this news that his money has been gulped down by some crooked persons.

One such investor sent a message to one of his friends and has informed that he has invested over Rs 15 lakh in the company. The message said, “Please help me get my money back. This was the money I saved to build a house and my dream will be ruined if I don’t get the money.”

All the hopes of these investors are now on the police as they investigate the case and as because their lifetime money invested into the company, the people are keeping a close eye on the whole process and investigation.
