As Apple’s media event scheduled on Sept. 9 comes closer, the anticipation for what the company will launch on that date heightens. This includes the official announcement about when the new version of iOS will be available, which the company revealed earlier would take place this fall.

Tech Radar anticipates that iOS 8 will be available on Sept. 10, the day after the said event. The publication notes that, given Apple’s history, the company will likely make the announcement on its new iPhone on Tuesday, followed by the availability of iOS updates the next day, and then making the new device available for pre-orders or selling on Friday. They also said that Apple could already have its Gold Master version right now (on or around Sept. 3), undergoing the last stage in the developer state – this stage, according to Tech Radar, often takes place one week before launch.

This seems to coincide with a report by 9to5mac which came out early last July and predicted that iOS 8 will most likely be launched in September together with iPhone 6, and OS X Yosemite is expected to be released in October.

In any case, the new iOS is expected to present new features that will perhaps take a bit of getting used to. As Apple says on its website, “iOS 8 is the biggest iOS release ever — for developers and everyone else… It all adds up to an even better experience — one that is pleasantly surprising at first and becomes utterly indispensable before you know it.”

iOS 8 is designed so it integrates closely with OS X Yosemite, and it offers many new features such as Quick Type, Health, Continuity, better Spotlight, and more.
