IFFI (International Film Festival of India) which takes place every year between, 20th to 30th November in Goa from the time Goa has been made the permanent venue for IFFI. This year IFFI has a new surprise for you this year. According to the available information the passes which were made available for the delegates for Rs. 300 earlier has now been raised to Rs. 1000 per delegate pass. Last year there were around 13000 delegates have registered for IFFI and paid Rs. 300 per pass.
46th IFFI is scheduled to be held from 20 – 30 November 2015 this year. According the sources, the reason behind the hike of the festival fees is the burden which is to reduce the burden on the state government and in order to do that, this year ESG (Entertainment Society of Goa) and Festival organizers have decided to make this festival self-sustainable. Every year government spends close to 11 crores on the hosting of this event and central government and directorate of Film Festival only provides the organizational support.
The delegate registration has already been started and the fees will be acceptable online and the payment will have to make only after the receipt of the confirmation mail. The registration fees are waived off for the film and television fraternity people who belong to reputed institutions. The registration will be closed on 5th November and late registration fees will be applicable from 6th November onwards will and end on 15th November. The late fees of Rs. 500 over and above the registration fees will be applicable which will make you shell out as much as 1500 for the pass.
This new development may reduce the number of aspirants willing to become the delegates, but only time will tell that. Please do leave your comments and suggestion on this new development enforced by the government on this festival.
