We all make plans to become rich one day and in a place like India becoming rich is not at all difficult if you know how to play your cards well. We have quite a few examples of people becoming rich overnight in India and there are some of them become billionaires in short span of time. Since everybody was very busy figuring out as how to become rich in short span of time in India the problem of poverty did not get solved after the 67 years of independence.

Recently one of the congress leaders made a statement in the media saying “Fifty years were not enough for the party to remove poverty from the country” – but can someone guess how many have become stinking rich in the 50 years of time? Each and every Politian for sure has become rich in last 50 years. Some of the industrialists have also become rich with the blessings of these politicians. Finally everybody has become rich except India. Does that sound weird?

When AICC spokesperson Ms. Shinde asked by IANS as to why Congress government was unable to eradicate the poverty from India despite being holding the treasury for long time “Fifty years are less” said Shinde. She further continued saying that the Congress was committed to eradicate poverty and has also introduce many schemes but corrupt system did not allow to do so. “What I meant is (the) Congress government has always tried to alleviate poverty and has introduced many schemes. Of course, there are loopholes in the system we are trying to…. which our president and our vice president are trying to overcome, right. “So we have to beat these loopholes which are in the system, we have to beat these loopholes by implementing schemes which directly reach the grassroots levels,” Shinde said. `Garibi Hatao` (poverty alleviation) has been the main poll plank of the Congress party for several decades, Shinde said but despite the best attempts of the party some of the schemes introduced by it had succeeded while others failed. She also said that no government had been able to match the efforts of the Congress to alleviate poverty. “The steps which we have introduced to alleviate poverty, no other government has been able to that. And 50 years, even the opposition has ruled, so it has been a give and take. And the amount that the Congress government has done for the poor of the country in terms of the schemes and implementation, I don`t think any other government has been able to reach that level,” (Source: IANS)

These statements make my points stronger as why India has not come out of the poverty while some selected Indians have become rich in last 50 years when Congress was trying to make all the efforts to eradicate the poverty from India? Government comes government goes, people connected to the system becomes rich and rest of the India remains poor.  This system remained unchanged for the past 50 years, now the question is who is going to break this trend? When India will come out of the poverty and become rich country? as it was known long ego “Sone Ki Chidiya”.

I will appreciate your comments and feedback on this fiery issue which I am sure is haunting all the Indians. Despite the India is being one of the most resourceful countries in the world we are still considered as poor and our dear politicians always show us the piece of cake which at the end of the day neither we can have it nor we want to let it go. The situation will not change unless all of us decide to change the people who are running the system. Jai Hind Jai Bharat
