The chances of meeting a fatal accident are increasing at the highest as a 43-year-old, travelling on his Harley Davidson died on the spot on Sunday after a car hit him on a sharp turn at Partagal-Canacona, Goa, in yet another case, One person died and another one was seriously injured in a hit-and-run case close to the military camp at Bambolim on Monday evening. Highway police traced the errant four-wheeler down within 10 minutes of the incident near Holy Cross shrine and arrested the driver, Rajesh Pawar, a resident of Borivali, Mumbai, who had fled from the spot.

According to the sources, Agasaim police said the four-wheeler was headed to Margao from Panaji, while the deceased was traveling in the opposite direction on his two-wheeler. Pawar’s car hit Shetye and another biker namely Kevoy Fernandes, 331-year-oldfrom St Cruz.

According to the information Fernandes is still recovering from his injuries at a local hospital as his lost his one hand in the accident, while Shetye was declared dead on arrival.

On a daily bases at least one accident takes place in the state due to rash and negligent driving by four wheelers and two wheelers which has created a nuisance for the traffic as well as for the public especially those who lose their lives due to the negligence of the culprit.
