The accidents are inevitable and everyone someday or the other faces an accident of different types but the road accidents are the deadliest ones amongst all and something similar is happening in Goa for the past almost 15 days. More than dozens of people have lost their lives in various road accidents across the state. The cause of the accident has always been the violations of the traffic rules.
Despite the several warnings and after seeing the number of horrible accidents the people in the state are not ready to comply with the traffic norms. It looks like hardly anybody bothered about following the traffic guidelines. Even the Goa Police did not remain behind in this race. The news published by InGoa channel yesterday showed the clip of police vehicle crossing the lane and overtaking on the busy Mandovi bridge thus risking the lives of other people. When the police themselves does not follow the traffic rules what one can expect from the common men.

Meanwhile, the Ponda police registered an offense against the Jeep driver who managed to escape from the accident spot. According to the sources, the main reason behind all these road accident is said to be the reckless driving and not following the traffic rules. The accident that took place at Old Goa in which five people died on the spot is one such example of negligent driving since there were around eight people sitting in the car which was meant only for 5 seating capacity. The reason behind accident was the driver who lost control over the vehicle and went on the wrong side of the road first crushing two people and then hitting the oncoming truck.

The accident that took place in Farmagudi, Ponda wherein one lady was crushed under the truck carrying gas cylinders was the mistake of a driver who banged on the bike on which victim was riding pillion from behind and thus causing the death of 40-year-old Shakila Ali. Pradeep Kumar Jha lost his life when the speeding truck hit him at Usgaon and Yogesh Satardekar was fatally knocked down by the scooterist at Khadepar. All these and more accidents give only one message, it’s time to revise our driving skills and go back to the school and learn the traffic rules as RTO may not be interested making sure whether you have the knowledge of it or not.
In the last news article, we had mentioned that traffic police is more interested in issuing challans than implementing the rules strictly. Taking into the consideration all the accidents it looks like the licenses are also issued without making sure whether the holder of it is eligible or not. Only when the authorities start implementing the regulations strictly the graph of the accident will start going down until then please be prepared to face the consequences.
