As reported by the PTI, the tourist season in Goa is seemed shortened by a month as Goan beaches are looked deserted in the month of April. Even after tourism department declared the tourist record of high arrival it is found that the beaches are almost empty and the tourist who used to be seen making a crowd and enjoying a pleasure time on goan beaches in this season are seen flying out. The last chartered flight is yet to take off officially from the coastal state but still restaurants, Shacks and shops at the beaches have started winding up for the season which gives an  idea of fewer tourist for the end of the season.

As described by PTI Parvez Khan who runs a small-time shop in Arambol said that “There are no more tourists arriving here. We will have to wait for the next season to start.” Other shopkeepers have started giving a big discount on the products, accepting the end of the season. Khan who owns a shop selling leather items said that the products are sold for one-fourth of the price, which leading them to loss of course.
Ralf D’Souza, Spokesman, Travel, and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) told PTI that, “The situation is grim in the beach belt including Calangute-Candolim belt. There are no takers for Goa flight due to which the chartered operators have begun cancelling their trips and are re-deploying the aircraft to some other destinations which go full.” He added that the foreign tourist season, which used to get over in the month of May every year, is curtailed to April end. He also informed that this new trend has started since last year.

There are no takers for Goa flight due to which the chartered operators have begun cancelling their trips and are re-deploying the aircraft to some other destinations which go full.” He added that the foreign tourist season, which used to get over in the month of May every year, is curtailed to April end. He also informed that this new trend has started since last year.

Still there are some footfalls are seen on Candolim and Baga beach. D’Souza said, “Only at a few places in Candolim and Baga beach, there are shacks which are continuing and will survive. Rest all others have begun dismantling.”

According to the state tourism department, a total of 693 charters arrived this season bringing in 1,45,833 foreign tourists in the state.

Locals asserted that the Britishers have already left the state though few Moscow-bound charters will be departing in coming days.
