Goa Tourism has been awarded the “Best Wedding Destination” award at India International Travel Mart (IITM), held in Bangalore from July 18-20, 2014. The award was received by Mrs. Satira Dias (Information Asst. – Department of Tourism). The award was presented by Mr. Sanjay Hakhu – Director, Sphere Media Pvt. Ltd, organizers of IITM Bangalore 2014. The three-day exhibition brought together several players from the travel industry such as State Tourism Boards, National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), hotels and resorts, tour operators, travel agents and face-to-face with buyers from the industry for shared networking and business opportunities.
This year, more than 670 trade visitors and over 11,200 general public visited the event over the three days. There were large delegations of travel partners and tour operators from more than 10 countries at the show such as Bhutan, Dubai, Egypt, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
