With the change in technology and availability of various high-tech gadgets, the business of prostitution is booming breaking the geographical barriers. Earlier there was a possibility of setting a trap to catch the culprits but now due to the development in online business, it is becoming more and more difficult for the police to track down the culprits. [su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] Based on the available information the Crime Branch of Goa Police managed to crack the online prostituting racket with the help of NGO Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ) and rescued four women and arrested the lady pimp who was running the entire operation from Nagoa in North Goa.
The name of the arrested lady pimp is Tanya Sharma, who was caught by the police while she arrived at the set spot at Calangute with four girls. According to the police sources, the four victim girls hail from Chandigarh, Punjab, Maharashtra and Rajasthan respectively.

The victim girls were sent to the protective homes after the rescue operation and Tanya Sharma was produced before the magistrate and sent into the five days police remand for further custodial interrogation, said the police sources. “The decoy had struck a deal with the person whose mobile number was posted on a website supplying girls for the illicit trade. He (decoy) was routed to Sharma at Nagoa who promised to get the girls near a hotel at Calangute. The team, waiting near the gate, caught her red-handed,” a senior police officer said.

According to the sources, this raid has revealed some shocking truths said the PI Dattaguru Sawant who was accompanying the SP crime branch Karthik Kashyap. According to the revelation made by the accused who claims to be a native of Delhi, used to procure the young girls from different parts of India to supply to the customers for the purpose. “These rescued girls come from a poor financial background,” an officer said. Based on the available information, these victim girls were featured online on the website www.sooni.in (Goa High Profile) which has the images and numbers victim girls displayed on it. The website claims, “To meet escort ladies it is not something wrong so don’t worry to share it as they are not worse than all other girls and the profession they are practicing (practicing) is normal as everyone else. In our days, you can find someone on the web in some of the many websites for meetings so in what we believe is that all websites for those types of services are not worse than the others and our clients should remember that.”

The website claims to supply Goan girls, housewives, high profile escorts and foreigners, all aged between 18 and 28 years. In each category that the website has specified, the pimps charge between Rs 10,000 and Rs 60,000 for a certain duration during the day.
