Every year Goa government makes special arrangements of trains GOA-MUMBAI holiday special to facilitate the smooth traffic of inbound as well as outbound crowd. According to the available information The Konkan Railway, in coordination with the Central railway, will run the Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Karmali – Lokmanya Tilak (T) superfast special train and the Dadar – Sawantwadi – Dadar (reserved) special train on specific dates this month to cater to the surge of rail passengers.

The Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Karmali superfast special train, bearing number 01039, will depart from Lokmanya Tilak terminus, Dadar at 1.10am on March 20. It will arrive at Karmali at 11am on the same day. The Karmali – Lokmanya Tilak (T) superfast special train, bearing number 01040, will depart from Karmali at 2pm on March 20. It will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak terminus at 11.55pm on the same day. The 14-coach train will halt at the Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali and Kudal stations.

The Dadar – Sawantwadi (reserved) special train, bearing number 01095, will depart from Dadar at 7.50am on March 17 and March 20. It will arrive at Sawantwadi at 8.30pm on the same day. The Sawantwadi – Dadar (reserved) special train, bearing number 01096, will depart from Sawantwadi at 4.50am on March 16, March 18 and March 21. It will arrive at Dadar at 4.10pm on the same day. The 12-coach train will halt at the Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal and Zarap stations.

As per the available information, from April 1, the Railway Board has decided to increase the advance reservation period from 60 days to 120 days (excluding the date of journey). There will be no change in case of certain day time express trains such as Taj Express, Gomti Express, Special Trains, etc, where lower time limits for advance reservation are at present in force. There will also be no change in case of the limit of 360 days for foreign tourists.

Konkan Railway will be running special trains between Madgaon and Mumbai CST to address the increase in passengers for the next two days. The Mumbai CST-Madgaon special, bearing number 00111, will depart from Mumbai CST at 11.05am on March 16 and arrive at 11.30pm on the same day. The 13 coach train will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Vilavade, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi, Tivim, and Karmali stations.

To provide better facilities to the passengers, road transport corporations of both Karnataka and Goa have been entered into an agreement to run additional buses in each other’s destinations. According to mutual agreement, transport corporations of the state- KSRTC, NWKRC and NEKRTC can operate more services on 59 routes covering 20,526 service kilo meters in Goa including Panjim, Vasco, Mapusa, Margaon, Calangute, Colva etc. Similarly, Kadamba Transport Corporation of Goa can operate services on 28 routes covering 22,148 service kilo meters including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Belagavi, Hubballi, Savadatti, Murudeshwar, Gokarna, Karwar, Gokak, Bellari, Vijaypur, Hampi, Yallapur, Sirsi, Bhatkal, Haveri, Mudhol etc.
