  • Around 100 floats to participate in the  float parade in Panjim
  • Elaborate arrangements made    to  ensure  smooth  flow  of  traffic  and  conduct of the  float parad
  • Lakhs of tourists  to   converge  in the  capital city for the   parade in Panjim  on Feb 14, followed  by parades in Margao and Ponda on Feb 15,  at Vasco and Curchorem on Feb 16  and   Mapusa and Shiroda on Feb 17.
  • Cultural programmes and other  extravaganza  organized  by respective carnival  committees  in  Panjim and other  cities in the
  • Argentinian Band Rico Samaya to perform in Panjim  on Feb 16.
  • Red and Black traditional carnival dance to be held in Panjim on Feb
  • Khell tiatrs to be held in Margao and  entertainment programs  in Mapusa, Vasco, Ponda and other
  • King Momo and his entourage  will lead  float parades in Panjim, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa.
  • Exquisite decorations put up in Panjim, Miramar, Porvorim and parade cities.

[su_highlight background=”#1c67eb” color=”#fafcfc”]CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS   AT THE  SAMBA SQUARE  IN PANJIM BEGINS  FROM FEB 13, 2015[/su_highlight]

  • The program begins after 7.00 pm when electioneering comes  to  an end that
  • The celebrations begin on the  eve of  Carnival  to  set  the  mood  for the gala  celebrations which  begin  on  Feb 14.
  • The first day will  revolve around  entertainment, food, music, décor,    masquarades
  • A special area us also being set up for  children at the Samba Square.
  • On Feb 14

The  partying will begin after the  parade  where  King Momo and his  entourage  will be brought  to the  Samba  Square and read out  his  decree throwing open  carnival celebrations at the  Samba Square.

 

  • On Feb 16

Samba Square turns  red and black

The  traditional red and black dance  will be organized. Dress code  for the  dance is strictly  red  and  black.

 

  • On the 16th

There   will be an Argentinian band  performing – Rio Samaya

 

  • On 17th the  last day

The  celebrations  will  continue  with  entertainment,  food, music etc.

 

Food  served will be  authentic  Goan  food ,  décor  will also  focus  on Goa.

People’s  carnival  is  what  the  Panjim committee  under  the   Commissioner  CCP  is  assuring this  year.
