Futsal in Goa will be without Ronaldinho, Marquee player leaves for Brazil replacing himself with Cafu for Goa Premier Futsal

The press conference held at Marriott Goa has revealed the sudden exit Premier Futsal marquee player Ronaldinho from the game by replacing himself with Cafu another star player of Futsal from Brazil. The press conference held on Monday evening was addressed by another marquee Brazilian player Falcao along with the Dinesh Raj, MD of the Premier Futsal at Goa Marriott Resort. According to them, Ronaldinho was replaced by another star player Cafu.

The press conference which was supposed to start at 6 got delayed by almost an hour but finally Falcao entered with Dinesh Raj, MD of Premier Futsal. Dinesh Raj told the media that Ronaldinho had to leave for Brazil since he got a bigger opportunity there as a brand ambassador. “Two days before we received the news that Ronaldinho is leaving Premier Futsal since he had to be in Brazil as he had got an opportunity to be a Brand Ambassador of Rio. He tried his best to push it further but he could not do it. It is bigger and prestigious opportunity,” he said adding that, they have three years contract with the company and he will be joining back in the next season.

The Futsal marquee player of Brazil has appreciated the entry of Cafu in the Futsal game saying that it is a good thing that Cafu is joining the team. He said that it is not important as who is replacing who since all of them are the best players of this game. “Cafu is playing the Futsal for a long time but that is not important here. The important thing here is that these stars are legends and they play well and enjoy the game. Cafu plays Futsal every week and they are here to make this tournament a grand success.”

Falcao further said that this tournament is more of a friendly game but at the end, everybody wants to win here. Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the Premier Futsal Dinesh Raj has assured that next year the number of teams will increase. “We are going to increase may be another two more teams in the next season of Futsal,” he said adding that they are not interested in increasing too many teams due to the fan base.

According to the sources, After the fine performance of Ronaldinho on Sunday against Bengaluru, the Goan crowd was expecting him to lit the Futsal turf at Pedem, Mapusa but this news of the exit of Ronaldinho will come as a disappointment to his fan base in Goa. “It is unfortunate that I have to leave for my home country Brazil as my country’s commitment comes first. The para-Olympics committee has honored me to be their ambassador, which requires me to be in Brazil. I was looking forward towards being in Goa, but I learned only yesterday of this development. I am delighted to spend these days in your beautiful country and promote the game I grew up playing,” Ronaldinho was quoted as saying in a press release video he had sent via email.

“But I promise to be back for season 2 of Premier Futsal, much stronger. I am leaving you in great hands, Cafu will replace me as your marquee player. He is a very dear friend and is a top quality player and I am sure he will light the league up,” stated Ronaldinho. Goa plays their last match from their group “B” against Kolkata in the first match on Tuesday at Pedem ground, Mapusa.
