Goa is gearing up for their annual Goa Food and Cultural Festival 2015 showcasing Goa’s authentic cuisine along with presentation of Goa’s folklore and a volley of cultural shows by local Goan artists. The event will be held from 17th April to 21st April 2015.
The event will be inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest, Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar, Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Guest of honor Shri. Dilip Parulekar, Honourable Tourism Minister in the distinguished presence of Shri. Nilesh Cabral, Chairman, GTDC, Shri. Siddharth Kunkolienkar, Honourable MLA Panaji Constituency, Shri. Shubham Chodankar, Honourable Mayor, Corporation of the city of Panaji, Shri R.K.Srivastava, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Shri. Ameya Abhyankar, Director of Tourism.
A meeting was held on Friday at the GTDC board room in the distinguished presence of Tourism Minister Shri. Dilip Parulekar and other tourism and senior Government officials, Goa Police and the event organizers.
Various aspects of the event was discussed at the meeting which included the parking facility ,toilets, security, light, stage, sound, décor, permissions, food stalls, celebrities, live performances etc. After beaches and the susegad vibe, food is perhaps one of the other reasons that draw tourists to Goa. In a bid to promote the culinary delights that the state has to offer, along with highlighting its rich culture, Goa Tourism is organizing the Food and Cultural Festival.
The five-day sizzling event, revived three years ago, has been drawing lakhs of tourists to the State who travel from far and wide to savour Goa on a platter and experience its cultural heritage. This year too the festival will present a variety of Goan authentic cuisine in vegetarian and non-vegetarian segments, sweets and other delicacies with more than 70 stalls.
The event attracts gourmands from all over who want to try Goan delights beyond the staple fish curry and rice. During this five-day extravaganza, there are live performances scheduled to keep the audience enthralled. These live acts will feature a mix of local talent as well as some popular national names like Indus Creed and Parikrama. The event will be graced with lots of Firework display, DJ Music, Spot prizes and much more.
This event will be held at the D B Bandodkar Ground at Campal, Panjim. Details of cultural programme are as under. Around 50,000 tourists and public are expected to visit the five day extravaganza. Entry to the programmes will be free. Ample parking space strictly at the parade ground, Opp .Bal Bhavan will be arranged.
