Renowned Thinkers, Musicians and Artists Converge to Empower Goa

Vasundhara, an environmental arts festival, in partnership with the Dunagiri Foundation, weaves together environmental education and awareness with music, film, performance, visual and healing arts to honor our Earth (Vasundhara), will be held at Arambol for the first time from March 5-8.

In partnership with the Dunagiri Foundation, Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, and the Electronic Music Alliance, we strive to bring culturesand people of all ages together, to find strength in our diversity, and to provide a fully immersive four days in which we share, learn, inform, enlighten, and empower each other to take care of the riches of Mother Earth.

Vasundara

Combining the brilliance of artists and forward thinkers from India and around the world, our aim is to motivate our community to protect Goa. We accomplish this by presentinga showcase of inspiring films; remarkable dance, theatre and visual art; globally renowned DJ’s and live acts; and the workshops of key experts in waste management, permaculture, organic gardens, natural building, eco tourism, renewable energy and sustainable fishing.

Featured acts include Dave Dinger, Lifafa, Spiritual Gangsta, Gaudi, Gurbax, Abai, Rico Loop, B.R.E.E.D., Sickflip, Wazulu, Hang Massive, Janover & Resunator, Ben Pavlidis, EZ Riser and the Human Experience. Featured performances include Delhi-based dance group Natya Nectar, comic physical theatre act Boogie Loop and spiritual pop artist Pan Trinity Das.

Vasundhara

Specifically focused on Goa’s ecological sustainability, Vasundhara, in partnership with Dunagiri Foundation, intends to inspire our global community to take real action to protect and nurtureGoa. We encourage solutions to environmental challenges in ways that arerealistic and attainable, while enjoying the dance of life with play, care and RESPECT. An example of ourgrass-roots effort is our commitment to providing lasting solutions to the plastic bags and plastic water bottle waste issue in Goa. We are working with various companies to provide alternatives to plastic bags. We are also working with filtered water companies to provide water filling stations in Goa, expanding the amount of available water resources for the local population with less waste. We will also host several beach clean-up/recycling events in the months leading up to the festival. In addition to the activities &presentations at Vasundhara, we are making continued efforts to implement strategies that will help protect Goa’s flora and fauna.
