This is perhaps the first case of recovery of the drugs from the possession of students that too inside the college campus. According to the sources, the Anti-Narcotics sleuths in Goa arrested two students possessing narcotics substances at state-run Goa engineering college. Read the complete report here.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] According to the PTI news agency, Anti-Narcotics Cell of Goa police has managed to crack down the drug abuse within the college campus after arresting two students with the possession of ‘Narcotics Substances’. This lead to raise the serious concern over the well-being of the students in the campus of the state-run Goa Engineering Collage.

There is no doubt that since the drugs were recovered from the possession of engineering students within the campus premises it may not be the first time that someone tried consuming it. That also points out at the officials who run the entire show or perhaps the students are having more freedom.

According to sources, two students have been identified as Arun Rathod, first year student and Vishal Gawas, final year student, both pursuing their engineering studies from Goa Engineering College located at Farmagudi in Ponda Taluka.

The police sources have told the media that they received the tip from their sources that two students were consuming the drugs at boy’s hostel within the college campus of Goa Engineering College on Friday. “We acted on a tip off that the two boys were consuming narcotics substances in the boy’s hostel located in the premises of the educational institution on Friday. We immediately raided the place,” a police spokesperson said.

“The raid is to send a strong message that Goa Police will not tolerate any such nefarious activity in the state more particularly in educational institutions,” Karthik Kashyap told PTI. He denied revealing on the nature of substance have been recovered from the possession of the students.

After taking the accused in their possession police have booked the case under the section of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Said the police official.
