There seems to be sheer confusion about the MGP leader contesting the Shiroda by poll as at the one end MGP leader Deepak Dhavalikar states that he will be contesting the Shiroda by polls, and on the other end BJP senior leader claims that he will not, and it is become very difficult to understand who is talking sense.

There was news about the BJP leader trading in the Shiroda seat for the post of deputy CM during the BJP party meeting at a five-star property in Goa but now the situation seems to have taken a different turn as the MGP party president denied of withdrawing from Shiroda constituency in the by polls.

According to the report published by the Heraldo There is a  confusion between alliance partners BJP and MGP over contesting the Shiroda by-election. While Sudin decides to remain silent, the other MGP legislators, Babu Azgaonkar and Pauskar decided to leave the decision up to Dhavalikar about the Shiroda by polls.

It looks like now the game is becoming more interesting with the time. BJP is trying every stone unturned to make sure that regional parties do not expand their areas by enticing them with the offers at the same time regional parties seems to have decided to come out of the BJP clutches and become independent. What are your views on this?

According to the sources, BJP has managed to get the written assurance from the elder brother Sudin Dhavalikar about leaving the Shiroda seat alone but the younger brother Deepak Dhavalikar is adamant on his decision and said that ‘there is no question of withdrawal from Shirorda seat.

It is interesting to note that Sudin has now maintained silence on the issue. Even other two party MLAs namely Manohar Azgaonkar and Deepak Pauskar have left the ball in Dhavlikar brothers’ court.

Speaking to the local daily Herald, BJP President Vinay Tendulkar said that Deepak has assured Nitin Gadkari that he would not contest the by-poll. “We were witness to that conversation. It was clear condition put forth,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pauskar assured that if Deepak wants to contest the Shiroda by polls then he will work for it and make sure that MGP wins the Shiroda seat.

Mr. Deepak Dhavalikar has a completely different story to tell. According to him, there is no question of withdrawal and he would resume his campaign after three days. However, he said that his party would not contest in other three by-elections — Mandrem, Mapusa and Panjim and also Lok Sabha polls.
