Road accidents are getting rampant in Goa with daily at least one accident taking place somewhere in the state. The utter negligence and rash driving are the major reason behind these accidents. [su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] Based on the available information from the reliable sources, Mapusa resident died in a fatal accident that took place on Porvorim Mapusa highway yesterday. According to sources, Mapusa resident Ajay Sakloni was on his way to Mapusa from Panaji while the truck was proceeding towards the direction of Panaji.
While reaching near SBI at Alto Porvorim the truck apparently collided with the car coming from the opposite side. The impact was so hard that front portion of the car was completely crushed killing the driver instantly.
According to the Porvorim police, Ajay Sakloni from Mapusa was driving the car while the truck having the Maharashtra registration was allegedly driven in highly rash manner by Pandurang Salunke from Maharashtra resulted in an accident.
Police further stated that, this accident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday at around 2.25am. The driver of the truck Pandurang Salunke from Raigad Maharashtra was arrested by the Porvorim police under the section of driving in the rash manner thus causing the accident and fatal injuries to others.
The police sources have also revealed that, the impact was so high that the car driver had got trapped inside the car and succumbed to his injuries while the pillion (co-occupant) sustained serious injuries on the head.

Police have booked the driver Salunke from Maharashtra under the following sections of 279, 338 of motor vehicle act and section 304-A of IPC Culpable Homicide (causing death due to negligence). The truck driver arrested by Porvorim police was later released on the bail.
This accident took one person away leaving the other seriously injured while the truck driver gets the bail in just one day. The case will go on for years.
