Accidents on the two-wheelers are on the rise with bigger vehicles such as tankers and trucks speeding up with no restrictions. In one such accident that took place today morning at Ponda-Farmagudi bypass, a scooter rider hit by the speeding tanker and killed on the spot.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] According to the available information from the reliable sources, Adarsh Hegde, age 26, a student of an engineering college was proceeding towards the Farmagudi from Panaji and when he reached Farmagudi-Ponda bypass he was hit by a speeding tanker proceeding in the opposite direction.

The impact was so stern that he was killed on the spot. Adarsh was the resident of Chittadurgh in Karnataka. Police reached the spot arrested the tanker driver (registration number of the tanker is GA01-Z-3330)

Police have performed the panchanama and the body of the deceased were sent to GMC for post mortem. Further investigation is in progress and Goa Prism will keep you updated on this.

The accidents are on rising with every day the newspapers displaying at least one such incident but the concern authorities do not seem to do much to control the situation. unless some stern action is taken against the rash and negligent drivers the accidents will keep taking place. please leave your comments on this.
