Based on the information provided by the Old Goa police, the private car having the Maharashtra registration number plate went out of control and killed two pedestrians before ramming into the truck coming from the opposite direction at Corlim in Old Goa. The sources have also said that the condition of three people is very critical and they have been admitted into the GMC (Goa Medical College) at Bambolim for the treatment.

Meanwhile one of the local residents told the new channel InGoa that this accident took place due to the absence of a speed breaker on the road at Corlim in Old Goa. “I appeal to the government of Goa to look into the matter and put a speed breaker here,” he said adding that “This serious accident took place here and two people from our village have died on the spot due to hit by the car. I was at home when the accident took place. I heard the sound of a bang and came out to see what happened and to my shock, there was a serious accident occurred just opposite the Malik petrol pump.”

According to the sources, the accident took place right on the time when the Goa government was celebrating the traffic safety week in the state.
