The accidents are on rising in the state, and most of the accidents occur due to the mistake of the people, who meet with the fatalities. Rash and negligent driving are the major cause of all the accidents. Here, in this case, the rider was riding his two wheeler in the in the wrong lane, said the sources. 

According to the sources, one Shabu Modko Gaonkar, 65, the resident of Gaondongorim, died in a road accident, that took place in Canacona on Wednesday, after falling off from the two wheeler he was sitting pillion. Gaonkar was riding pillion on the bike operated by Sandesh Gaonkar who is also a resident of Gaondongrem, said the sources.

As per the police reports, the two wheeler rider was riding his bike in the wrong lane, and subsequently lost his balance, due to which the Shabu Gaonkar, who was riding pillion fell off the bike, and came under the rear wheels of the local bus traveling on the opposite direction.

In this accident, the rider also suffered the serious injuries and had been shifted to the Hospecio Hospital in Margao, as the Canacona community center did not have the enough facilities to handle the severity of accident cases, said the sources.

The body of deceased Shabu Gaonkar, 65, was sent to Margao morgue for post mortem and police conducted the penchanama. Police Sub Inspector Tukaram Chauhan is doing the further investigations in this case under the supervision of Police Inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai.

The road accidents will not reduce unless, the people of the state will not get educated about the traffic sense, and follow the traffic rules. Traffic police alone cannot establish the law and order but it is a duty of every citizen to follow the guidelines laid down by traffic department. What are your views on this?
