Deadly Accident at Assagao, Two Youth Died, and Two are in Critical Condition admitted in GMC

The group of four students was returning home from the birthday party celebration, in a Maruti Swift Car, driven by one Ethan Viegas from Porvorim, but, when their car reached Assagao the driver supposed to have lost the control of the vehicle and rammed into the compound wall of a bungalow at Assagao.

Due to a huge impact, the driver Ethan died on the spot. The incident supposed to have taken place at around 2.30 am on Sunday, said the sources. The sources in the police have said that four youth were in the car when the accident took place. “They were on their way back home after attending the birthday party at nightclub up in North Goa,” said the sources. 

The Maruti Swift car driven by Ethan Veigas from Porvorim, was in a very high speed, when it reached to Assagao junction, and due to which the driver lost the control over vehicle, and rammed into the nearby compound wall.

THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY CRUSHED DUE TO THE IMPACT

The impact was so severe that the frontage of the car was completely smashed, and partially dismantled. The driver Ethan Viegas died on the spot, and co-passenger Lee Ann Rocha died on the way to the hospital. Lee-Ann was a student of St. Mary’s school, Mapusa, said the sources. 

“We lost our good aspiring volunteer at COOJ in a very tragic accident at Assagao, She was a star , bubbly & brightest girl I have had the opportunity to interact with & is now shining down on us from Heaven. Will miss you LeeAnn. Gone too Soon…..RIP,” wrote Donna Noronha on her FB wall after getting the news of the demise of Lee-Ann.

The vehicle bearing the registration number GA-05-B-3532 driven by Ethan Viegas a resident of Porvorim. Two more youth traveling in the same car have been seriously wounded with their condition is critical, and they are undergoing the treatment at GMC, said the sources.

This accident is the result of rash and negligent driving as the youth were on their way back home after finishing the party, and the possibility of drunk driving cannot be ruled out, said the sources. Police is also doing the investigation towards that direction.

The social media has been filed with the condolence messages to the departed souls the deceased belongs to a young group. It is a big lost to the family members of the deceased but the question here is, whose mistake is this? Who is responsible for the accident? What do you think?
