Finally, Danielle McLaughlin’s Family has released the Press Statement in the media saying, additional Legal Team will be working on this Case and Advocate Vikram Verma has been appointed to represent their case In India. On March 15, 2017, the body of 25-year-old Irish National was found in Field of Canacona. She was gang-raped and brutally murdered by the culprits. Her body was lying in the field in almost naked condition. This case becomes one of the Goa’s most brutal cases. The main accused Vikat Bhagat was arrested by the police and he had confessed to the crime…

The trial has begun after almost six months time, and Goa government has ordered to make it fast-tracked. Now the case will be heard on the day to day basis. Initially, when the process started, the accused tried many tactics to delay the process by not co-operating but, the decision of the government to make this case fast-tracked came to the rescue of victim’s family.

According to the reports, the family of Danielle Mc Laughlin, who was murdered and raped in Goa in March 2017, confirmed that in addition to the legal team dealing with the case an appointment of Mr. Vikram Varma, as their representative in India when the case of the accused, Vikat Bhagat comes to trial.

Danielle’s family also expressed their sincere gratitude to the Coroner’s office in Dublin and the chief state pathologist Dr. Marie Cassidy for their help. The family member further stated that the second post-mortem report of the victim has been performed by Dr. Cassidy with meticulous precision. “Dr. Cassidy’s report, among other things, confirms the cause of Danielle’s death in line with the first post-mortem report done in Goa, India,” said the sources in the family.

Advocate Vikram Verma to Represent Danielle’s Family in Goa

The sources further said that Danielle’s family has also received the documents pertaining to the framing of charges on the accused from the prosecution authorities in India, the family has extended their thanks to the British Consulate in Mumbai for their invaluable assistance in organising the delivery of the charge sheet to their solicitor, Desmond J Doherty in Derry.

While talking over the phone with the Highland Radio, Ireland’s Number one local station, the solicitor of Danielle’s family Desmond J Doherty has expressed his satisfaction over the entire process saying that this case is moving at entirely satisfactory manner even to compare with their own jurisdiction of Derry and Dublin. “Normally these types of cases take some time before they come before the court, and it satisfactory that we got to this stage in such a quick time,” he said.

Meanwhile, Danielle’s family have been dealing with lots of documents and information pertaining to this case over a last number of months, and they are still trying to cope up with them and come to terms with the tragedy that occurred with their daughter while she was on a short vacation to Goa, said the sources.

Danielle’s family remain hopeful that the truth in relation to the Danielle’s untimely (and brutal) death will get surfaced and the justice will be done to her soul. They are also expecting that the trial of Vikat Bhagat, the only accused who is charged at the moment in this case, will take place soon as it is being fast tracked by Indian authorities.
