In one of the most shocking incident, around 11 passengers traveling in the Konkan Kanya Express were robbed by the unknown robbers. The train runs between Goa – Mumbai. The incident has happened in the middle of the night when the Train halted for crossing at Vinhar in Khed village in Maharashtra. The most surprising thing that came to the notice of the passengers is the absence of Railway Police in the train when the incident took place.

According to the sources, in the middle of the night when train halted at Khed the group of unknown robbers suddenly appeared from the dark and started snatching the chains of the passengers. One of the passengers told the media that few of their partners were also present inside the train who were helping the robbers from inside.

The above situation makes it clear that the loot was pre-planned and the robbers were aware of the train halt at that location which is perhaps not possible without the help from the insiders. The absence of the railway police also points out towards the same thing, said the sources.

One of TC had received severe injuries in his hands in the attack.

The report further states that this is not the first time that the robbery took place at this location, but this was the 60th case in just two months time and police were doing nothing about it. “There is no police protection whatsoever in the train. They robbed around 11 people and according to the TC this was the third case in the same night,” said one of the passenger.

Meanwhile, the CPRO of the Konkan Railway Mr. L K Verma told the media that, people needs to be careful and should take care of themselves in such situation. “We have instructed the Railway Suraksha Bal to investigate the matter and take the necessary action,” he said, although he had failed to mention at why there were no Railway police present at the time of the incident.

The police complaints and investigation are not the only solutions to the present situation. In fact, the railway authorities need to make sure that they provide the sufficient amount of security personnel in the train especially during the nighttime. When the victims contacted the local police in regards to the robbery the police said it does not comes under their scope. Who is responsible for this Dacoity? Passengers? Police or the Railway Authorities? please do leave your valuable comments and suggestions at the end of this article.
