Immediately acting on the information, police went to the office of the private bus company and seized the cases she was carrying and was brought to police station. She just refused to answer the cops’ questions.

Police later found her college identity card. She then informed police saying that she was not smuggling liquor but carrying it to Bengaluru for a party with her friends.

Another Ugandan woman who said to be her sister came to the police station and said that Marius had informed her about being detained by police. But when she saw media persons she left from the police station.

Police stated that they would check the information provided by Marius and will take action against her.

Though, it is not yet clear if she bought the liquor in Goa and then brought it to Karwar or she purchased it in Karwar itself. But, police refused to provide any more information about her.
