When we say Goa Sold, we actually mean it as this news could be the greatest land grab issue leaving behind Monte Hill and all Comunidade land grabs in Goa. There is this shocking news that violating all the norms, 200 houses are built on the land of the Shirvoi Comunidade, in Pedamol and they have no sale deeds. Now almost for six years, these houses have been constructed entirely by the migrants. Yes, Goa Sold. Here is the whole report.
[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] All these houses are constructed and illegally “sold” mainly to migrants from Karnataka and it’s much obvious with the direct involvement of influential people in the Comunidade. People can only see Karnataka registered vehicles in these areas. Allowing this land scam the local administration treats it like a sleeping dog.
Currently the houses from Pedamol have no documents. Some people residing here are from Margao Monte hill and rest are from Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal and other areas.
The report was prepared by the Mamlatdar conducting a survey with detailing of the illegalities, a year ago. According to him this report has been lying with the Deputy Collector for well over a year now with no action taken.
When the beneficiaries of this illegal land are non-Goan migrants but their benefactor is very much Goan, and a man with a duty to protect comunidade land from being misused. Pedamol has now turned into mini Monte hill like Margao increasing rapidly which was once a place known for its Dhangar community.
The original owner of this land, have been living here by means of cashew plantation and animal herding, were fighting a case in Quepem court, against some persons who were claiming rights on these lands. The Court while deciding the case had maintained the rights of 12 of the inhabitants, but other than having a house the court denied them from any other rights to the land.
The court had also ordered the people not to hinder the tenants of this land while executing any job. This very case had given the Attorney his rights to the survey number of the land.
Following the court order many for whom the Court did not give rights, had surrendered their land to the comunidade in the past. Later the attorney of this comunidade sold this very land to several non-Goans, in a manner not permissible.
Comunidade land cannot be transferred or bought by anyone whatsoever. After seven years this land now has over 200 houses standing tall on the property.
Goans are normally seen running to post to get power and water connections but these houses have got power and water connections on urgent and important basis.
As now the elections are approaching so there is a possibility that they also get ration cards and election cards of the Government of Goa. Social workers helping these houses have presented an ambulance to them.
The lands were handed over to Comunidades in the past by many and now there are moves to convert these lands making it residential plots and then sell them. This is how Goa government taking no efforts selling Goa bit by bit.
