Goa police are investigating the most complicated rape case of a minor girl involving Taleigao strongman and St Cruz MLA Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate. The case is getting more and more confusing with all the tests done and statements were given by the accused and victim. Police are now on the lookout for a white color car with tinted glasses. Why are police behind this tinted car? What is police up to now? Let’s read here the important fact found by Goa police in the form of the white tinted car which seems to be linked with the case.

On one hand, as narrated by the police, Rosy Ferros the third accused in this case is not disclosing anything about the car used by her to carry the victim to the house of the accused Babush. The car is yet to be recovered, police have said.

On the contrary, Damodar Dhond, Rosy’s counsel said she (Rosy) does not own a white car (at the time of alleged offense) which the police are searching for. On Wednesday while arguing on the police remand application before the Children’s Court Dhond has said, some time back Rosy purchased a second-hand silver color car. She does not have a driving license nor does she know to drive.

Ferros had surrendered at the Crime Branch police station, Ribandar on Saturday last week. Rosy along with Babush and the victim mother will be produced before the court on Monday.

As said by the sources Rosy acted as a mediator in the deal with Babush and had introduced the victim and the mother to Babush. She had also delivered her (victim) to the accused Babush for sexual exploitation for consideration of Rs. 50,00,000. While Rosy and the victim mother have filed bail applications, Babush has not.

Police sought custody of Rosy as they needed to interrogate her on the number of SMSs revealing communication between her and Babush. The interrogation with Rosy revealed that the SMSs are pertaining to inquiries of the victim and her mother and about when they are migrating to their native place. The text SMSs were dated in April, which was few weeks after the alleged rape of the 16-year-old girl.

The defense counsel Dhond has said on this as the victim was lodged in Apna Ghar, Merces in April and her family being voters Babush had inquired with Rosy about it.

According to Dhond, There are contradictions in the statements of the victim. She has confessed to stealing some thousands (rupees) from the store and in this context had sent SMSs to her colleague from workplace regretting her action. At one time she says she had been to Babush’s house on March 6 for the purpose of job whereas in her supplementary statement she claimed she was employed at the store of Babush in Miramar from December 1, 2015, and worked there until March 4, 2016. Hence, the statements given by her are differing.
