Presently the BSNL is the only low-cost broadband service providers in India but with the new development that took place in AP recently in which the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched AP FiberNet making it the most affordable broadband service in India. Here is the complete story.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] Although it is very difficult to believe but it’s true, according to the information available from the reliable sources, The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu had launched AP FiberNet, low-cost broadband service in Visakapattanam on Thursday. Under the project, the government of Andhra Pradesh will offer low-cost broadband internet to households and workplaces. A high-speed broadband connection of 15 Mbps will be provided at a price of Rs. 149 while the users will have to pay just Rs. 999 for the 100 Mbps speed broadband. These rates are substantially lower than any other internet service providers’ charges in India.

The sources also revealed that the AP government is the first state in India to implement this low-cost broadband service. The AP Fiber Grid Project has been taken up by the National Optic Fiber Network of the Centre as a pilot. The project has been implemented at a cost of Rs 333 crore and it will be gradually rolled out to other districts of the state by July 2016.

If you look at the India’s biggest telecom network BSNL, it will be difficult to find such low rates even there. According to the sources, the state government has the plan to connect around 1.3 crore household in the first phase through AP FiberNet. This project had been implemented in association with Andhra Pradesh government has tied up with Cisco to roll out the project.

The sources have also said that this project will be rolled out pan-India in due course of time. That means soon everybody will have the low cost and high-speed broadband service available at your doorstep.
