Another rape case in the state actually put a question mark on the safety and security of woman in Goa. This time, Nigerian national allegedly raped a woman at Parra, Mapusa. Police are on the lookout for two Nigerians as informed by the victim in an FIR. The police officials said that, from these two, one has allegedly raped a 39-year-old woman at knife-point. As per an FIR, the victim claimed that she was riding a scooter and when she reached an isolated road near Alva Mara open air hall, Parra she was waved down by two Nigerians and was stopped by them. They took her to their rented room in Assagao village by threatening her at knife-point. The incident happened late on Saturday.

As mentioned by the victim, she was taken to a room forcefully and was raped by one of the two persons.

Senior police officials have refused to come on record. An FIR has been filed against unknown accused of rape and kidnapping, said by a police official attached to the Mapusa police station.

The official stated, “We have filed an FIR under sections 365, 506, 342 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code. We are on the lookout for the accused who the victim has claimed were of African origin.”

As said by the police, all the nearby police stations along with those at the state’s borders had been alerted in an effort to trace the accused and the further investigation is on.
