Another high intensity quake hit the Nepal today evening leaving 37 killed and more than 1000 injured, it was measured at 7.3 compared to earlier 7.9 on Richter scale epicenter in Nepal sending the strong tremors throughout the Nepal and some northern parts of India. Out of total 37 dead 16 were from Bihar alone. This has created the panic in the state which had already faced the quake just few weeks ago leaving almost 58 killed and hundreds injured. According the sources from the union home ministry largest number of death took place in Patna the capital city of Bihar followed by Darbhanga, Saran, Siwan, Nawada, Muzzafarpur. One more death have been reported from UP in India.

The present quake hit near the locality of Namache Bazaar evaluating thousands of panicked residents on the streets of Kathmandu. The present quake was also felt in Bangladesh besides the Nepal and India. The centre of the present quake was about 76km at the east if Kathmandu in a rural area close to Chinese border.  According the sources the quake struck Nepal at 12.35 local time (06.50 GMT), the rescue operations have been put into action on war footing basis in the affected areas. According the news from PTI total of 31districts out of 75 have been affected in this quake.

The Prime Minister of Nepal Sushil Koirala called for the help from all the agencies who had helped in the quake affected areas since 25th April he also urged the people of Nepal to have more patience and courage in the time of this natural disaster.

The BBC reporter Simon Cox has reported from the affected area “You could feel it really strongly. It went on for about 25 seconds – the ground was shaking, the birds started squawking, you could feel the buildings shaking. There was another aftershock and people were all out on the street. That aftershock really added anxiety and panic. People started crying. They are calm but you can tell they are all scared.”

Another BBC correspondent Yogita Limaye also reported from the Nepal’s Mountains when the quake struck Nepal this afternoon, according to her “The earth shook and it shook for a pretty long time. I can completely understand the sense of panic. We have been seeing tremors – it’s been two-and-a-half weeks since the first quake. But this one really felt like it went on for a really long time. People have been terrified.”

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after reviving the situation in the fresh quake has asked the rescue agencies to rush to the effected spots and carry out the relief work. “PM took stock of the situation following the fresh major earthquake felt in Nepal and parts of India, at a high-level meeting,” the PMO said. The Home Ministry is collecting information from states about the damage caused by the quake and National Disaster Response Force has been put on alert, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said. Director General of IMD LS Rathore said aftershocks could continue for weeks or maybe months.
