In one of the incident at Mapusa, a woman allegedly died while undergoing a treatment of Liposuction. A Woman named, Bernadette Mascarenhas a resident of Ansabhat in Mapusa, who underwent the cosmetic surgery lost her life due to the medical negligence. Read here the whole report.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] Bernadette Mascarenhas, 55, allegedly died due to negligence after a liposuction procedure. She underwent the cosmetic surgery at a beauty clinic in Panaji.

Mapusa police registered a case of culpable homicide under section 304 read with 34 of IPC against a Delhi-based doctor and the proprietor of the beauty clinic. As told by Mapusa PI Tushar Lotlikar to the Times of India, the case has been registered against Dr. S Arora.

Initially, the case was registered of unnatural death but later, son of the deceased Stephen D’Cunha lodged a complaint against the doctor and clinic for medical negligence.

The case has been forwarded to the medical board of Goa medical college and hospital, Bambolim along with the complaint, post mortem report and case paper with a request to set up a team of doctors to look into the case.

Mapusa police filed a case on Saturday of culpable homicide after receiving the GMC report that noted the cause of death due to medical negligence.

Liposuction is a technique in cosmetic surgery for removing excess fat from under the skin by suction.
