Free calling, unlimited internet are all part of promotional activities carried out by the mobile service providers to lure the customers, in most of the cases these schemes afre implemented for the limited period to lure the customers. One of the recent example is the Airtel who has launched the unlimited free calling service for local and STD at a charge of Rs.49 and Rs.99 per month respectively. This offer lets you call anyone almost 24*7. But before you jumped to any conclusion let me tell you that, this offer is valid only for the Airtel’s landline customers.

This initiative is a part of the business strategy of Airtel in way to improve their diminishing landline business in India, which is slowly fading away from its existence. Airtel is set to roll out this service for customers who opt for Airtel’s internet connection. Apparently the company has come out with two plans, one offers unlimited free local calls for Rs. 49 per month and another offers unlimited free local and STD calls for Rs. 99 per month.

The company has a strong broadband user base of about 1.49 million, till the end of December last year.“In an industry first, it will announce that its broadband customers can enjoy free voice calls to any network in the country 24×7,” the company said in a statement to media organization.“Customers can enjoy unlimited free local calls with the pack priced at Rs. 49 per month and unlimited free STD+local calls at Rs. 99 per month to any network, anywhere in the country to both landlines and mobile phones round the clock,” the company said.
