Yet another development that took place in the alleged minor rape case by Taleigao heavyweight Babush Monserrate, the dealer ‘Aunty’ Rosy surrendered before the crime branch today morning. Rosy is the third accused who had allegedly helped the stepmother of the victim to allegedly sell the minor victim to Babush for the sum of rupees 50 lakh. Read the complete report here.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] Based on the information provided by the ANI news agency, ‘aunty’ Rosy, who was involved in the alleged deal between the beleaguered Goa legislature Babush Monseratte and the stepmother of the victim minor girl has finally surrendered in front of the Goa Police.

‘Aunty’ Rosy was apparently absconding from the scene since the time issue came up in the media. She is considered to be a vital element in the investigation of this most controversial rape case and there are possibilities of the more information surfacing after her interrogation by police.

The local online news portal Goa News has also released the image of the third accused in the media has mentioned that ‘Aunty’ Rosy will be presented before the JMFC on Monday for taking of the remand as she is needed by police for interrogation. Babush will also be produced before the children’s court on Monday but his counsel Adv. Rajiv Gomes has told the Goa News that he will not press for the bail of Babush on Monday since he feels that case of Babush is very strong. “Let the police complete the investigation. We know that our case is strong and Babush is innocent”, he said.

‘Aunty’ Rosy is the third accused that is arrested by police in this case who was the mediator in the alleged deal that was stuck between Babush and the stepmother of Victim minor girl for Rupees 50 lakh in the month of March.

Babush and his wife Jennifer has called this entire episode as a cooked up political conspiracy against them that is targeted towards finishing Babush politically. Babush still remains stiff on his statements about the victim girl who was according to him was working in his store in Miramar and had stolen the cash of Rs. 4000. Babush says that girl was arrested by police for stealing the jewelry of her mother.

The whole incident came into the light when the NGO related to the children’s welfare went to Apna Ghar for counseling where the victim girl was kept by the police for rehabilitation purpose. The girl apparently broke down during her counseling session and narrated the entire episode to the NGO activists.

The NGO claims the filing of a complaint before the Panaji police which was registered only after 10 days time. Police issued the notice of arrest of Babush and asked him to surrender before 7 pm on 5th May but Babush appeared before the police at 3pm, police, however, arrested Babush formally only by late evening.

According to the sources, the police is working hard to make this case strong against all the culprits. They are gathering all the possible avoidances by way of statements & interrogations of the people connected with this case.
