One of the notes was written for her father which was in Gujrati while the other one in English to her employer.

Divya, a student of Bachelor of Commerce in SD Jain College, had jumped to her death from the balcony of the 11th floor of a high-rise apartment in Udhna. The investigation and the suicide note by her revealed that she was disturbed over her family forcing her to end relationship with her boyfriend for four years until she completed her studies.

In her suicide note addressed to her father Divya have thanked her father for listening to her. Suicide note stated that, “You had given me two options — either to keep the affair on for four years, but you would not have been able to sleep, or end it. Even if I had ended it, you still would have to keep a watch on me. I have a third option due to which only one person’s life will be spoiled. Mummy, I can’t listen to your taunts. Moms, Dad stay happy after I leave. Jigar now you make a big name for yourself and keep mother and father happy.”

She ended it saying, “Instead of performing my rituals, visit Goa and enjoy a drink in my name. Love you mom, dad, bhai, dada.”

Her employer is a friend of her father and he had tried to convince her last time to discontinue the affair with a college friend and focus on studies.

In another note she wrote, “My father thinks that I am a burden on him. I am committing suicide since I can’t live with this. I don’t want to be a burden on anyone. My father always says that he has given me freedom to take decisions, but he always forces me to take them in his favour.”

PB Sapra, police inspector, Udhna police station said that, “The girl had an affair with a boy and her family wanted her to focus on studies. They tried to counsel her but she choose to end her life. We are checking her mobile call details to know if she was facing any other problem.”
