The road accidents are on the rise with the back to back reports of growing road accidents in the state. On the same day, Thursday two road accidents had been reported in the state of Goa. The first one was at Aldona and second in Ribandar and in both the accidents the two wheeler riders succumbed to their injuries.

According to the reports from Aldona, 41-year-old Ajay Kinlikar died on the spot in a head on collision with the another bike coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that both the bikers were thrown on the road following an accident.

The sources have revealed that Ajay was proceeding towards Ekoxim from Aldona on his bike while the Bappa Gadekar from Khoirut Aldona was on his way back home from Panaji on his two wheeler. But when both reached on the Olaulim road, they had a head on collision.

Ajay was a resident of Punolo in Bardez and he was an employee of a Fomento Company in Panaji. The incident supposes to have taken place on the late night of Wednesday, said the sources.

The sources said that in an accident Ajay died on the spot, and he was not wearing a helmet while the Redkar sustained grievous injuries, and been shifted to GMC for treatment. Ajay was taken into the PHC Aldona but was declared as brought dead by the doctors.

The post mortem on the body of Ajay was conducted at GMC on Thursday and his body was handed over to his relatives for the final rites, said the sources.

Despite the several reminders and warnings, the riders do not wear helmets, especially in the villages considering that police will not catch them. People need to know one thing very straight that the helmets are not meant to be used only on the highways and to save yourself from the challan issued by police, but the helmets are made to save your life.
