THE IMPACT WAS SO SEVERE THAT THE PILLION RIDER RAMKRISHNA KANAL, 35, FELL OFF THE BIKE AND CRUSHED TO FOLLOWING COMING DEATH UNDER THE REAR WHEELS OF THE TOURIST BUS. WHEN THE ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE, THE DECEASED ALONG WITH HIS FRIEND PUNEET ADKALE WAS PROCEEDING TOWARDS CALANGUTE FROM BAGA ON THE RENTED ACTIVA SCOOTER. THE REASON BEHIND THE ACCIDENT IS SAID TO BE RASH AND NEGLIGENT DRIVING.

According to the source, the accident took place on a Saturday evening at around 7 pm on Baga – Calangute lane in which one Ramakrishna Kanal, 35, a resident of Jogeshwari in Mumbai died on the spot after falling off the bike and coming under the rear wheels of the tourist bus bearing registration number KL-17-Q-3561. The rented bike on which the duo was traveling has a registration number GA-03-K-9943 and it was ridden by the friend of deceased, Puneet Adkhale, 30, a resident of Virar Mumbai.

According to the police reports,  the Tourist Bus from Kerala was proceeding towards Calangute from Baga. The deceased Ramakrishna and his friend Puneet (rider) were also proceeding in the similar direction on their rented Activa Scooter.

As the bus approached a narrow lane near Tao restaurant in Baga, Puneet (the rider) tried to overtake the bus, and in bargain, his bike dashed against the bus resulting in the pillion order Ramakrishna fell off the bike and came under the rear wheels of the said bus. He was crushed to death on the spot, said the sources.

According to the statistics every hour around 17 people die in the road accidents across the country, and the major reason behind this is a lack of patience. People don’t realise that they are living on the edge. The incident of Baga is something similar to that. The tourists who came to enjoy the vacation in Goa had no patience and their one mistake resulted into the losing of a valuable life of one person.

The police sources said that they have arrested the bus driver for rash and negligent driving but the scooter rider Puneet who had escaped with the minor injuries in this accident was left scot free in this accident case. Perhaps this is one the reason that two wheeler riders take the incident very lightly as they know that they can easily escape from it.

Meanwhile, the scooter rider Puneet, who survived this accident told the media people that he was overtaking the bus and it was the mistake of a bus driver who did not see him overtaking and ran over them. It is very difficult to know the exact reason behind the accident as both the parties bailing each other.

Only the strict action against both the people responsible for the accident will bring the discipline in the people. What is your point of view on this? Please share your views on this serious issue.
