In one of the most tragic incident, a 19-year-old youth Sohail Shaikh from Vasco Da Gama lost his life after ventured into the Savari waterfalls in Netravali. Sohail was the student of MES College Vasco, said the sources.
The sources revealed that Sohail was on adventure trip along with a group of friends to Savari waterfalls in Netravali, situated in Sanguem Taluka in South Goa on Tuesday.
The police sources said that Sohail ventured into the water for a swim, but was unable to keep himself afloat for longer, and was drowned. His body was carried away by the underwater current.
After getting the information of an accident the emergency rescue service personnel along with the police rushed to the site, and started the search operation, but could not manage to trace the body of Sohail till the late night.
The police sources have informed that they also took the help of a Navy divers in the search operations. More details are awaited in this regards
