Road accidents are increasing due to the rash and negligent driving on the Goan roads. The recent accident that took place in Siolim had claimed the lives of three people from single family but there was hardly done to stop such incidents in future and in one recent incident a 17-year-old girl lost her life after the two-wheeler she was riding pillion was knocked down by the speeding bus at Thiivm near Mapusa.

According to the Times of India report, A young girl from Madel died on Wednesday evening at Cansa Board Tivim, when a passenger bus collided with the two-wheeler she was riding pillion on.     

The bus which was coming from Valpoi, towards Mapusa, hit the motorbike coming from the opposite direction at Cansa Thivim near Dena Bank.

According to the reports, when both vehicles had reached near Dena Bank junction the bike rider Ritesh Harmalkar(17) lost control over the two-wheeler and fell on the right side of the road, but unfortunately, the pillion Samira Matondkar (17) came under the wheel and died on the spot. Ritesh sustained grievous injuries and is undergoing treatment at GMC.

The Mapusa police had arrested the bus driver Anand Shankar resident of Valpoi under the sections under section 279, 338 and 304 A  for rash and negligent driving.
